Finalist Demostrations

Greetings. Could you please clearify about the time given to finalist to demonstrate their applications. The Showdown rules say that 2 minutes are given to the 12 finalist during the RootsTech Innovators Summit as well as to the 6 finalist during the Judges Choice Awards to demonstrate their application.

If I remember right, during the 2015 Summit the finalist were given 5 minutes, with questions and answer afterwards. Are the 2016 demonstrations actually limited to 2 minutes?

Thanks.

Yes, the presentation for both the semi-finalists and finalists on stage is 2 minutes. If you want to see what a 2 minute presentation looks like for super simple apps to even the most complex of products, an episode or two of "Shark Tank" is very handy (those entrepreneurs actually only get about 90 seconds). You should be able to see episodes on the ABC website.

You'll notice that the judges end up asking great questions about the product which sheds more light on actual functionality. But the key/core functionality is in the short pitch. This is similar to the format you will find at RootsTech.
